My home is very important to me. I have often been told that it is warm and inviting, which pleases me because I want people to feel comfortable in my home. I like to use warm, comfort colors and bright accents throughout my home, and I have collected some nice pieces throughout the years. My most cherished piece is a table my father refinished years ago. It seats 12 (with extensions leaves) and it makes me happy to have a piece of his hard work gracing my dining room. We have several parks in the area, and many families in my neighborhood with children of various ages. Halloween was a lot of fun this year, with my doorbell ringing constantly and seeing all the costumes!
I love to ski. During the winter months I go to my sister’s ski house up north for a few long weekends. Of course her children are better than I am now, but I still love it. I read a great deal, in fact a good book is often the only thing that keeps me on the treadmill! I enjoy yoga and working out and believe in staying physically fit. I will make sure that my child lives a healthy and active life. I think they often mimic our behavior, and if they see me exercising and making healthy food choices, they have a much better chance of adapting the same lifestyle.
I feel so honored that you would consider me as the adoptive parent to your baby. The chance to raise a child in a loving home is a lifelong dream that you are helping come true. I will have a “birth story” for the baby about his or her birth story, so that he or she knows they are loved by their birth parent (s) and by me; that there is no end to the love surrounding him.
I am a big part of my nieces and nephew’s lives and have been since each of them was born. Watching them grow has only reinforced my desire to be a parent. I do believe that it is important to live the life you love, and sometimes that means taking the road less traveled, or making hard choices. I consider myself to be gentle and kind, and armed with the knowledge to teach and raise a happy, healthy, kind child. I hope that, should you choose me as the adoptive parent for your baby, you know, without a shadow of a doubt, that your baby will be raised in a warm and nurturing home with a mother and lots of cousins and aunts and uncles and great aunts to dote on him or her, in a safe, stable and loving home.
Thank you again for this unselfish and brave decision. I hope you are surrounded by a loving family to help and support you through this.
